When you match the kitchen, you just have to do a photo shoot. Here is the same look that was in yesterday’s The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies post minus the apron and plus shoes (leopard, of course).
If you follow my blog you know that I wore this outfit with a different sweater and sunglasses in the Lofty Leopard post where I featured Lofty Coffee. This leopard top has been on repeat and I was feeling like pink for Alfred Tea Room. Besides, this is real life where I don’t have a new outfit every single day.
I had a friend in town from Santa Cruz and she wanted to eat healthy. They have the best food from M Cafe and such a great selection of teas. She had Matcha and I had the yummiest Rose Tea Boba with Almond Milk. It is a well photographed spot you have likely seen on instagram, so we had to join in.

I love this mural “One Pointed Attention” by Kelsey Brookes in La Jolla. It definitely relaxes me and is a great image for a mini-mediation. You can read more about Kelsey Brookes here.
This summer we visited the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. It is so well put together with great interactive exhibits for kids. I highly recommend it. My son loved it and we visited two weeks in a row. I also loved the adobe building, so on our second visit I took advantage and shot this fall look.
Our end of the Summer mini-vacation included an amazing meal at Plow and Angel at the San Ysidro Ranch. It is just so beautiful there. I wore a J. Crew dress that I featured in Stripes and Paisley on the Vineyard. This time swapping the pops of pink for my favorite leopard print. The dress is so easy to wear and is a great neutral shirting stripe that can be styled so many ways.
Enjoying the beautiful grounds after dinner.
Dinner at or absolute favorite restaurant. It is rare to find a place with such amazing food for adults and healthy options that are appealing to kids too.

Then we headed back to Butterfly Beach and The Biltmore for sunset.
On our recent trip to Santa Barbara we explored the El Presidio real de Santa Barbara after a delicious dinner (and margaritas) at nearby Playa AzulPlaya Azul. The Presidio contains an original adobe structure called El Cuartel, that is the second oldest surviving building in California and was built by Spain in 1782, with the mission of defending the Second Military District in California. The chapel at Mission San Juan Capistrano, known as “Father Serra’s Church”, is the only surviign building in California that is older.
I went to college in Santa Barbara at UCSB and did not spend that much time exploring touristy spots. It has been fun to explore with my son. There are so many great sites to see and if you like Mexican food, Playa Azul is a must.
Saying goodbye to summer is hard. Last week we got away for an end of the summer mini-vacation to Santa Barbara and had so much fun. We stayed in Montecito where my husband and I were engaged and married as I mentioned in Pom-Poms at the Courthouse. We had a great time with a visit to the Santa Barbara Zoo, beach and pool time, and some great meals.
I decided to add a pop of pink (wild flamingo to be exact according to J. Crew speak) to my navy in this outfit to reflect both my end of summer blues and my excitement for fall. These photos were taken at the Montecito Inn, which was built by Charlie Chaplin in 1928. You can read more about the history here. The hotel is so charming and I love the archways.
I discovered a new coffee place during our recent visit to San Diego. Lofty Coffee Company is amazing. I first visited their Solana Beach cafe. They roast their own coffee nearby in Encinitas as well as bake their own pasties from scratch. They have house made almond milk and hazelnut milk, which makes all the difference for me. I had an iced salted caramel latte with almond milk and I had to go back the next day for another. They also have great healthy, natural food options. We stopped by the Encinitas location on our way home (it is an easy stop from Interstate 5).
