Mani Monday – Happy Edition

My son and I visited The Happy Place in downtown Los Angeles this past weekend.  (To see highlights check out my Instagram stories.).  I had my emoji nail art done a couple of days before and each time I looked at it it made me smile.  A little extra smiling and happy is always a good thing.

Welcome to the Hotel Californian

“You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.”  Well I would never want to leave the beautiful Hotel Californian.  My husband and I checked out this new hotel when we had a quick getaway to Santa Barbara to celebrate 10 year anniversary.  It is gorgeous.  They just had their grand opening party last night.    I still can’t get over all the changes to lower State Street since I was in college at UCSB only a few years ago.  Back then there was very little going on lower State Street except a few dive bars. This is the latest addition.  I love all the black and white tile.

Easy Stripes

Shacket?  Jirt?  Either way, I love the stripes on this shirt/jacket.  I styled it with even more stripes with a striped long sleeved tee and striped clutch.  There are lots of different tying or open options and I love the fabric.

There are several new arrivals I have my eye on from J. Crew including this bag, these fun sandals, this scalloped blazer, and this striped tunic.

Mama’s Got a Brand New Bag

For my recent Spring Break in Washington, DC,  I splurged on a new cross body.    The Clare V. gosee is the perfect travel bag.  It manages to be light and streamlined yet it holds a ton!  In fact, I have been back for a week and I am still using it daily.  It is giving my totes a run for their money.  The strap is removable so you can use it as a clutch in the evening.

Mani Monday – Pink Triangle Edition

I’ve got sunshine at (and on) my fingertips.  I am ready for sandals and spring weather after returning from the chilly east coast.  My son and I visited Washington, DC for spring break.  We had a blast, but were definitely bundled up and did not see the sun during our stay.  We did see cherry blossoms and they were beautiful.  I brought a little pink back in the form of triangles on my sunny yellow mani.  I love pink and yellow together.  This yellow color is one of my favorites and was included in my first Mani post just over two years ago (see here).
