Mad for Plaid

I am all in when it comes to plaid.  I love the the tuxedo details on this blazer and could not resist matching my heels.  I kept it high/low with my new favorite vintage straight denim.  If you have been frustrated with distressed holes that continue to grow, these are for you.  They are patched underneath.

I updated my makeup with a few products by Chanel.  Including: a neutral eye shadow palette (Les Beiges) that I am already using more colors than the beige (they made the lightest color twice as large as the other colors – brilliant!).  I am also wearing the mimosa light creating base, blush (elegance)brow pencil (blond dore), eyeliner (feuilles) , volume mascara (black), lip liner (nude) and a new color (light rose) of my favorite long-wearing lip color.

A Few of My Favorite Things…

Plaid, leopard, stripes and camo are a few of my favorite things.  I usually have at least two of them represented.  These plaid shoes have potential to wear well after the holidays.  I styled them with this adorable leopard tee (with a navy collar), denim, cashmere cardigan and custom pouch.

These plaid, leopard and tortoise home accents are perfect for the holidays and beyond.

Mani Monday – Snowflake Edition

“I want to see real snow this year.” said my seven year old.  “You have seen snow at The Grove and the Santa Barbara Zoo.” I replied.  “That is artificial snow.  I want to see the real stuff.”

The next day he complains about being “freezing”.  I think it must have been a chilly 62 degrees.  Thank goodness I got him this adorable Star Wars camo puffer jacket at The Gap.  I have been staying cozy in this faux fur leopard coat.  I wore it nonstop this past weekend and featured it here. For now, we will settle for not quite freezing temperatures and snowflakes on my nails.

The manicure and nail art are by Olive & June.  The colors are “Caviar Bar” by Essie Gel Couture, “Set in Stones” by Essie and “Alpine Snow” by OPI.

The Countdown

December is here!  Did you know the number of advent Sundays until Christmas seems shorter this year?  The fourth one is on Christmas Eve.  So the countdown of shopping days is on.  Hanukkah is only 11 days away!  I am excited to break out our advent calendars tonight (Hot Wheels and Lego).  I may treat myself this one or this one.

Plaid is part of just about every one of my outfits these days.  For this look I styled my plaid shoes from last year (these and these would also look great) with this pink tee, denim and the coziest sweater.  I think this striped bag would complete the casual look perfectly .  I hope Santa follows my blog.
