Greens and Blues

In spite of the changing weather lately, I am Spring ready in my greens and blues.  I love the detail on the collar of this striped shirt from J. Crew.  I styled it with aqua denim, my favorite new Gemma flats with pom-poms, a summery clutch and J. Crew Ryan sunglasses

Clutching my Heart

I have been building my collection of clutches for a while and recently added acrylic dividers (similar here) to my closet to make my collection easier to see and access.

My son was particularly helpful with this project and kept pulling the J. Crew silver one with the perforated hearts (pictured above) and telling me that I needed to do a Valentine’s post.  It got me thinking that Valentine’s themed clutches work year round.  Who doesn’t want to carry a heart around or liven up an outfit with a pop of pink or red?

I recently ordered three (!) from Parker Thatch as a Valentine gift to myself.  They have an amazing selection and you can even add a love letter to them. They arrived with a lovely note.

Cocktails?

This Gingham Cocktail Shirt by J. Crew is the closest I have gotten to a cocktail in over a month. I am still going strong on my new way of eating that I mentioned in Resolutions and Intentions.  It has morphed from the elimination of some foods (dairy, sugar, corn and gluten) to the Bulletproof Diet, which I highly recommend.  I do wish it did not have the word Diet in it. My husband and I have embraced  it as a lifestyle.  Doing it together makes it fun and I am cooking a lot more.  There are so many great recipes in The Bulletproof Diet Cookbook.  We both have a lot more energy, both physical and mental.  We have each lost just over ten pounds, so far. I have been posting some of the things we have been eating and my Bulletproof Coffee techniques on Instagram stories.

For this look I embraced my preppy self with my J. Crew Jane Sunglasses, J. Crew Featherweight Italian Cashmere Cardigan, J. Crew Shoes (older style, other options linked below) , AG Prima Jeans and the Jaipur Clutch by Legend of Lido.

Mani Monday -Blue Triangle Edition

This week I wanted something elegant and neutral with a pop of color.  I went with nude and blue triangles on two nails on one hand and one on the other hand.  I felt like a full set would just be too much.

The colors are “Do You Take Lei Way?” by OPI and ” I Know What Boys Like” by Deborah Lippmann. The manicure and nail art are by Olive & June.

Spontaneous Starry Saturday

My first Saturday blog post.  I had to share this Star-Print Windbreaker from the New Balance for J. Crew active wear collection.  I loved the first roll out of the New Balance for J. Crew active wear and featured it in Pattern Mix Hits the Gym.  I longed for a zip jacket.  I need a jacket to carry my phone and keys and I love to have a jacket for warmth in the cold and sun protection.  This jacket is perfect for all that and even makes it impossible to use rain as an excuse not to work out.

The star print is so cute!

Windbreaker / Cropped Leggings / Shorts / Crop Top

It is no secret I am partial to navy and the Star-print Windbreaker works perfectly with my Fitbit Flex 2 in navy and New Balance for J. Crew Performance Leggings, which are hands-down THE most COMFORTABLE leggings I have every worn. Best of all, I never need to pull them up, they stay put.

I have to admit there are days where I wear my active wear all day.  Sometimes it is one of those days where I intend to workout and won’t take it off until I do.  Other times it is just one of those busy days with back to back meetings and activities. Luckily, I  swap one piece (jacket or legging) and look professional.  I love that this line is so stylish that I don’t feel like I need to hide or apologize for my workout attire.  My real dilemma at this point is what NOT to buy, because I love it all.  I feel sorry for my other active wear that is just taking up drawer space while the New Balance for J. Crew is on constant repeat and it was just about half the price!

Rain or Shine – I will look stylish

Tulips in the Kitchen

This past weekend was busy and I had to rush through our Sunday morning Farmer’s Market and only grab the weekly essentials for my new way of eating (pasture-raised eggs, bacon, broccoli and zucchini).  With my laser focus on healthy eating that I wrote about in Resolutions and Intentions,  I forgot flowers.  At least I have this adorable tulip t-shirt, another from the Michael De Feo for J. Crew collection, to brighten up the carb-free kitchen.

I styled it with a J. Crew grey cashmere cardigan, lavender AG Prima jeans, my favorite J. Crew leopard flats and J. Crew Ryan sunglasses.

Day and Night Stripes

Wearing stripes day and night is not unusual for me.  If I am not in plaid pajamas, then I am in striped (like these that are so soft, and monogrammable).  I recently took the Michael De Feo for J. Crew Striped T-shirt with Painted Flowers from day to night with the change of a blazer, bag to clutch ,and lip stain to lip gloss. I only had fifteen minutes as I had to feed my boys before heading out for a much needed girl’s night.

For another styling option for this t-shirt and the two others in the collection check out Blooming in Blue.
