Holy Matcha!

I was in San Diego last weekend and I had to check out the newest matcha bar, Holy Matcha, that just opened in North Park.  They have the most beautiful rose photo wall and decor.  The menu is perfectly curated with a just few items and everything is gluten-free and vegan. 

Since I knew the decor was going to be amazing and there would be plenty of photo opportunties, I kept my look simple with a pop of pink.  I am wearing a bell-sleeved silk blouse, Signet bag in fuchsia bloom, lookout high-rise jeans and leopard Gemma flats, all from J. Crew.

Mani Monday – St. Patrick’s Day Edition

I am starting the St. Patrick’s Day celebration early.  My son is almost done building his second Leprechaun trap.  He determined a clever Leprechaun could outsmart the first one. We will hope to capture some gold and not be victim to too many tricks on Friday.

 

The color is “Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around” by OPI.  The manicure and nail art are by Olive & June.

Flower Guy at Flower Child

I am not usually a fan of floral patterns, but there is something about The Flower Guy, Michael De Feo’s, work that is architectural.  I bought all three of the designs he did in a collaboration (more on that here) with J. Crew.  I recently took my Flower Guy teeto lunch with my mom at Flower Child.

I styled it with a J. Crew cashmere cardigan, J. Crew Lookout jeans, J. Crew Piper sunglasses, New Balance for J. Crew kicks and a Legend of Lido clutch.

The same tee was featured in Blue Daisy.  I styled the others in the collection in Day and Night Stripes and Tulips in the Kitchen.  All three t-shirts were featured in Blooming in Blue

Comforting Hues

Life is too short to be uncomfortable.  These silk foulard pajama inspired pieces from J. Crew are comfy and stylish.  I am pleased that public pajamas trend continues.  I must share that when my husband took these photos he said “Who are you, Hugh Hefner?”  Hugh certainly does not lack for comfort.

The Maine Event

I had to have the “Maine” destination art t-shirt from J. Crew in my favorite navy.  I can almost taste a lobster roll after a long day in the water. 

I styled it with a new gingham blazer, boyfriend jeans with paint splatter, a striped clutch and striped shoes.  I know the tee, blazer and jeans will be on repeat all summer.  The jeans are limited edition and are available on line and in just two stores. The blazer is lightweight and perfect for Spring and Summer.

Mani Monday – Cupcake’s Birthday Edition

We celebrated our dog, Cupcake’s, eighth birthday over the weekend complete with cupcakes from a dog bakery.   She was not that cooperative with the mani photo shoots this year. Maybe she is not thrilled about being in her mid-fifties. It’s a tough jump from forty-nine.

The manicure and nail art are by Olive & June. The color is “Sun Bleached” by CND Vinylux.

For Whom the Bell Tolls

Finally a bell sleeve I can wear!  I love the easy elegance of this striped top with the longer sleeves.  The shorter bell sleeve makes me look like a linebacker.  This one also comes in a narrower blue and white stripe, but I decided I needed a little pop of pink for Spring.

I styled the top with the J. Crew Slim Broken-In Boyfriend Jean in white, J. Crew Piper Sunglasses, my favorite Legend of Lido Clutch and a Springy pair of flats from last year (I linked a similar style).

Vintage Rainbow

My son calls this my rainbow shirt.  There has been a lot of talk of rainbows in my house with St. Patrick’s Day coming up.  My son is hard at work on his Leprechaun trap and we are really hoping for some gold.

I went all in on my rainbow look with a matching striped pouch.  I added a touch of gold for good luck with my New Balance kicks in salt and gold.  I completed the casual look with my new favorite Lookout Jeans and Piper Sunglasses in Ocean Blue.
