Mani Monday – Sunglasses Edition

Sunglasses with my favorite yellow polish which happens to be called Sun Bleached.  I love this color and I am always in my shades.  Here are a few great pairs to pick up for the end of summer.  I love these by J. Crew, Chloe, DVF, and Illesteva.

Mani Monday – Pastel Half Dip Edition

As I start to shop for fall  am still enjoying summer, so I feel half in at times.  I meditate regularly and work on staying in the present moment.  This forward planning seasonal fashion seems at odds with present moment thinking at times.  Especially when summer weather lasts through early fall in Southern California.  So a half dip fit the bill, but in pastels.

Mani Monday – Flamingo Edition

After seeing this t-shirt I had flamingos on my mind.  Coral is one of my favorite nail colors for summer.  I was able to find the perfect coral, “On the List” in my new favorite Essie Gel Couture.  My last mani lasted over a week.  It is indestructible.

This past weekend we had a quick getaway to Santa Barbara which included swimming and lounging at the Coral Casino.  It was the perfect mid-summer getaway and my coral, flamingo manicure fit right in.

Mani Monday – Fourth of July Edition

Happy Fourth of July!  I am enjoying the long weekend with museum visits, family movies and walks.  Tomorrow we will celebrate with a race in the morning, parade, barbecue and, of course, fireworks.  I hope you enjoy the holiday.

Mani Monday – Sunflower Edition

Tall stems and long days – it’s Summer!  Sunflowers scream summer to me with their bright yellow and stems that seem to grow forever.  I am enjoying the longer days even if it does seem to make it impossible for my seven year to go to sleep.  He like, me wants to chase the light.  We take a later walk and scooter ride with the dog stopping along the way to smell the flowers.

Mani Monday – Rainbow Edition

Love is Love.  In addition to supporting Gay Pride this weekend, this rainbow mani just cheered me up every time I looked at it.  Who doesn’t love a rainbow?  After rain, it is a beautiful surprise.  A rainbow, like love, goes with everything.

The colors are Essie Gel Couture “Haute to Trot”, Essie Gel Couture “Fairy Tailor”, (also available with Top Coat here).  The rainbow was made with Nars “Night Out”, OPI ” Live Love Carnaval”, Essie “Mojito Madness”, OPI “Big Apple Red”, and Essie “Clambake”.

Mani Monday – Blue Stripes Edition

It’s no secret that I love all shades of blue and all manner of stripes, so this week’s mani falls into the neutral category for me.

It has been a little busy lately with the end of the school year and a lot going on as I am sure is the case for most of you.  In fact, you may have noticed there was no Mani Monday on Memorial Day.  I hosted a really fun dinner party on that Sunday and decided to take the holiday off.

My weekly manicures are regular polish, I have never tried a gel manicure on my nails.  I tried gel on my toes this winter which was a game changer.  Due to the process and fast drying I was able to walk out in socks and shoes and go have a workout right away.  I was excited to try Essie’s Gel Couture Color.  It has a “gel finish” without the process.  My manicure is currently on Day 8 and it looks brand new!

Mani Monday – Camellia Edition

It is hard to think about a camellia and not also think about Coco Chanel.  My son and I have been reading this book about the life of Coco Chanel at bedtime, so I have had Chanel on the brain.  The polish is subtle matte pink and I love the little touch of camellia.  I think Coco would approve…
