A Touch of Plaid

It is no secret that I am mad for plaid.  My collection of plaid shoes is growing and I had to have these heels.  I styled them with my lace pants from last year that are available this year (I may add the red version to the mix) and my velvet blazer, white t-shirt and a tartan pouch (also available in this smaller size).  This scarf is a great way to add a pop of plaid and if you are not into heels these flats are so easy to wear with everything!

I am adding this adorable eye mask to my gifts for a touch of tartan and this umbrella makes a great gift. On my list are these PJs.  My family has been fighting over this cozy plaid throw, so I ordered two more.

Mani Monday – Half Dip Edition

My nails may be half dipped, but I am one hundred percent in holiday mode.  The house is decorated, the shopping is underway and the holiday cards are in the mail.  I did a special post last night on how easy they were.

The manicure and nail art are by Olive & June.  The colors are “Model Clicks” and “Take Me To Thread” by Essie Gel Couture.  The wear of this polish is similar to gel without the gel process.  Be sure to use the special top coat.

Plaid Between the Lines

Plaid shoes really do go with everything.  I wore plaid shoes from a few years ago with a striped shirt and jeans to go see Santa in 80 degrees last weekend.  My current dilemma is how many is too many? I have been collecting at least one pair a year for the last few years and I get a lot of wear out of them for several months a year.  This year there are several pairs I am considering including this pair with a blue velvet ankle strap (below and 40% off!), this fun pair and this pair of heels (also 40% off).

Rainbow Smiles

There is a lot to be happy about.  It is almost Thanksgiving vacation.  We have family visiting for the holiday.  We are having another heatwave (which I have decided to enjoy instead of being annoyed).  So today I am “Up Beat” and rainbows.  Why not?

Stars in the Spotlight

I wished upon a star for cozy, navy blue cashmere.  J. Crew granted  my wish with this adorable year-round kaleidoscope star sweater.  The everyday cashmere line is well priced and the styles are adorable.  I also love this, this and this (in so many great colors!).

I styled the sweater with denim, tweed flats and a gold clutch.  I also love this gold clutch with tassel.  My new camo clutch is another great option.  It’s coming to the blog  on Friday.

Blue Plaid

Next week J. Crew launches their holiday collection with plenty of my favorite plaid.  In the meantime, I am keeping it blue with this shirt styled with a pom-pom sweatshirt, dark denim and leopard print accessories. My son has the boy’s version and he styled it with blue cords that are so stretchy and comfortable (which for an active seven year old boy is a must)

Blue Velvet

One of my best purchases this season was the Velvet Clutch from J.Crew.  I was excited to see it when it came out and bought it right away.  It went with just as many things as black and added an elegant touch.  I lost count of the times I reached for it to complete holiday outfits both casual and dressy.  It made it into six blog posts.  I noticed this week that they had a few in stock, so if you missed it, now is the time to grab it.

Monday Monday – Wine and Roses Edition

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend whether it was celebrating Christmas, the first two nights of Hanukkah or just a long weekend with friends and family.  My mani this week is a wine color with a rose gold glitter.  It’s festive and ready for end of the year and New Year’s celebrations.

The color is “Malaga Wine” by OPI.  The manicure and nail art are by Olive & June.
